A great piece of advice that I’ve received whilst at Computacenter is to build and nurture your network. As a project manager, you’ll never find two days the same. It’s a very varied role, so you have to consistently learn and adapt your skills to suit new situations. This is where your personal network is invaluable. You get to meet people who have different skills and others who are just cool people to hang around with.
Everyone at Computacenter is really supportive. As a woman in IT, I find the women here are excellent role models which is really beneficial to me and my personal development. Seeing their success celebrated in things such as the CRN Women in Channel awards and their involvement in our Gender Employee Impact Group has been truly inspiring.
What I find most inspiring about the Future Talent programme is that you’re supported throughout, getting you into the best position possible for your future career. Graduates work on projects where they have a real holistic experience of the world of project management which is vital to their future careers.
